This is a numbered, limited edition issue of Ichida-sensei's famous 1959 study of the original dragon stamps; the single greatest resource ever published on the subject.\r\rAll 11 of the original plate photos are intact and included in an envelope in the back of the book. These make identification of plate position simple. Includes detailed studies of every stamp, copious diagrams, and photos. There are even onionskin layovers to identify features of covers (see photos). \r\r19 chapters cover:\r\rA brief history of the early postal system\rEarly foreign mail system\rFeatures of the dragon issues\rDragon mon issues\r 48, 100, 200, and 500 mon dragon stamps\rDragon sen issues\r 1/2, 1, 2, and 5 sen dragon stamps\r \rStill in its original dustcover, it even includes a pamphlet from the late Dr. Ichida requesting information about rare cancellations, errors, and earliest known use. \r\rExcellent condition.
